Brand Identity, Art Direction, Product Imagery

basic_tools is a dinnerware brand for people who eat with intention. The brand is built around the philosophy that tools earn their character through use. The identity leans into resilience over perfection, treating accumulated wear not as damage but as proof of a life well-eaten.

The tools stack into a long metal carry case that closes with the satisfying weight of something built to last well beyond the occasion it's being used for.

The visual identity is derived from the resilience of steel. Stainless steel that has been wiped down ten thousand times, scored by knives, marked by heat, dragged across by every kind of implement.

The typography carries the same logic into the brand's visual layer. A stripped-down monospace font which is precise, utilitarian, a little cold and resilient. It sits against the gritty physicality of the product the way a digital readout sits on the panel of a piece of heavy machinery.
